A former presidential spokesperson, Dr. Doyin Okupe, has stated that the Coalition for Nigeria Movement will present a credible candidate who will defeat President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.

The President had left the country on May 7, 2017, after handing over to his vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

He said: "President Buhari has proved beyond reasonable doubt to be honest, sincere and committed towards meeting the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians irrespective of political, tribal and ethnic differences".

"I will be travelling to the United Kingdom tomorrow, to see my doctor, at his request".

A statement signed by Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, quoted the President as saying: "I am not in politics for fun, frivolity or to amass wealth".

But he expressed hope that the president would "be back in the country on Saturday by the grace of God". Buhari however spent 51 days following medical advice to run some recommended tests by his doctors.

He said Buhari would return on Saturday, May 12th.

Shehu also revealed that upon his return, President Buhari's two-day State Visit to Jigawa would take place on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Buhari said he will be away for four days and plans to be back in Nigeria's capital of Abuja on Saturday, May 12. The last time he was in London was for a stopover whiles returning from an official visit to the White House.

The president spent 103 days in London treating an undisclosed ailment.

After Buhari left the United States on Tuesday but still hadn't arrived Nigeria by Thursday afternoon, it was thought that all was not well with the President.
