  • Trump's lawyer Giuliani suggests other women may have been paid hush money

CNN reported that Trump was particularly irked by Giuliani's refusal to rule out that Trump would plead the Fifth in the special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation.

Since joining the Trump legal team, Giuliani has attracted attention for his series of weird interviews.

Giuliani, a former federal prosecutor and New York City mayor, claimed Monday that Trump supporters angered by the year-long probe could head to the polls in droves and help Republicans stave off what many have predicted may be a watershed election for Democrats.

Citing Giuliani's interview on Sunday with ABC's George Stephanopoulos - when Giuliani suggested it's possible Cohen paid off additional women before the election - as an example, the same source said Giuliani "is stealing the spotlight and he's embarrassing (Trump)".

Beyond this quote, the story says that Trump has been "griping" to those close to him about Giuliani and that they expect the former NYC mayor to be sent packing if continues to bungle things.

Senior administration officials are complaining they are still in the dark about when and where Giuliani will pop up on their television screens, one senior White House official said.

Although Trump has hinted that such a move could be coming, the detainees have not yet been released as predicted by Giuliani.

His comments appeared to catch the White House off guard. Several reports have indicated Trump's attorneys have advised the president against such an interview.

After forcing out Ty Cobb, who wanted to work with Mueller, Trump has chosen to have attorneys who believe the President can not be constitutionally forced to testify to a grand jury through a subpoena.

Many in the White House have begun evoking comparisons between Giuliani and Anthony Scaramucci, another hard-charging New Yorker with a knack for getting TV airtime.

Congress poses the only serious threat to Trump, in the form of impeachment.
