Toure accuses 'cruel' Pep of hating African players

  • Pep Guardiola will never win Champions League again because African shamans won't allow it, says Yaya Toure's agent

Toure has expressed his anger at Guardiola after he was left on the fringes of the squad in his last two seasons at the club, telling France Football that the "jealous" former Barcelona coach "took him for a rival".

Touré, now aged 35, became increasingly marginalised as City claimed the Premier League title last season.

Toure was banished from the first-team picture during the early days of Guardiola's City reign in 2016 after returning for pre-season overweight, but the towering Ivorian worked his way back into favour after a spat between Guardiola and his outspoken agent Dimitri Seluk to win a one-year contract extension.

"Yaya has received many offers from different countries, big money offers, but we have made a decision to devote the next season to Guardiola", Seluk told sport24, per Goal.

"To proving to the Manchester City fans that Yaya is not finished with football".

In the time when huge amounts of money are spent on footballers in England, I officially declare that Yaya is ready to move to any of the Premier League top-six clubs as a free agent and play for just £1 per week, with possible bonuses in case of certain achievements.

"Once again: Guardiola's actions towards Pellegrini, who reached the semi-final of the Champions League that year, were awful".

Police shoot knife-wielding man at Berlin Cathedral, 'terror' ruled out
Police put a stop to a man waving a knife and going on a "rampage" at a Berlin cathedral by shooting him in the legs. The 19th Century cathedral is located in the centre of Berlin on the historic Museum Island.

"God sees everything. As a man who acted with Yaya, the legend of the club, which under different pretexts did not give the opportunity to go on the field", he said, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.

"I felt humiliated", said Toure, who is leaving City at the end of June.

"Yaya always played as number 42".

In Guardiola's two seasons at the Etihad, Toure made a combined 48 appearances for City.

"I have tried to understand - I politely asked the fitness staff for my statistics and when I discovered that they were as good, sometimes even better, across training session and matches, than those who were playing and younger than me, I understood that this was not a physical question", Toure said. "I'm sure he's still strong enough to play three or four years at the highest level".

This week has seen Pep Guardiola branded as a racist in a sensational interview given by Yaya Toure. "And Guardiola will beat this record, despite the money injected into him". The other players will never admit it publicly but some have already told me that they ended up hating him.

Jonathan is ESPN FC's Manchester City correspondent. "It'll be like an African curse on him".
