Philly Doesn’t Care What Trump Says About the Eagles

  • President Donald Trump points to members of the media as he arrives on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington Friday

They have not changed their minds this year.

The President customarily invites the champions of major professional and college sports to the White House for a visit.

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr had some harsh words for President Trump after he disinvited the Philadelphia Eagles from the White House this week. I'm not surprised. It's typical of him and, I don't know, I mean, I know no matter who wins this series, no one wants the invite anyways.

James and the Cavaliers are now down 0-2 in their best-of-seven series against the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors and Cavaliers face off Wednesday night in Game 3 of the Finals in Cleveland.

"The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow", Trump said in a statement.

"And so for us, it's just continuing to do the work, continuing to share our message to those who actually even want to hear it, to stay on topic and not really get into arguments about what's right, what's wrong - 'cause those are all excuses for people to not listen to you". Such visit, however, never came to fruition, as President Trump publicly dis-invited the Warriors from visiting the White House in late-September.

The Romanian broke at the start of the second set and then held for 6-3 as Kerber dropped her serve again in the ninth game. Rafael Nadal has won 37 completed sets in a row at the French Open heading into his quarterfinal against Diego Schwartzman.

Colin Kaepernick, then with the San Francisco 49ers, started the protest in 2016 that soon spread to other teams.

"President Trump leads on so many things but on this one he's not leading..."

Since taking office, Trump has criticized players for not standing for the national anthem. The White House stated, "They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem", although no players on the team kneeled during the national anthem last season. That invitation - not unlike the Eagles' - was pulled after a number of players vacillated on attending.

"Instead the decision was made to lie, and paint the picture that these players are anti-America, anti-flag and anti-military". Villanova, the reigning NCAA men's champion, has not revealed if an invitation was sent.

Curry said he was not shocked to see how the White House appearance issue has escalated since last September. Will the victor of the series - and let's be real, it looks like it'll be the Warriors - take the customary visit to the White House? "The way we handled things previous year. we'll stay consistent with that". "So it's just the way it is. I think the National Football League is a group where you have owners and players, but it can work together, you know what I mean?"

Kerr, like San Antonio Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich, has been outspoken in his criticism of Trump, and found it particularly ironic that the Eagles have been actively been doing "good deeds in their communities".
