  • Michael Cohen Dropped His Legal Representation Is Expected to Cooperate with Mueller

New reports say President Donald Trump's personal lawyer is searching for new attorneys as he's expected to cooperate with authorities. The Wall Street Journal confirmed the story Wednesday with "a person familiar with the matter".

With no representation, Cohen is "likely" to flip.

Only 162 of the hundreds of thousands of materials seized in the raid have been declared to have attorney-client protection.

Neither Cohen, Ryan nor Harrison immediately responded to messages Wednesday.

The New York Timesreported the law firm will stay with Cohen until the end of the week as his team reviews documents seized during an Federal Bureau of Investigation raid of Cohen's office and residence in April. For several months now, the prosecutors have been looking into whether Cohen broke the law in any business projects, including hush-money payments he made to women who claim they had affairs with Trump. Trump tweeted after the raid.

Mr. Cohen doesn't yet have a replacement law firm but is searching for a federal criminal lawyer in NY, people familiar with the matter said.

Cohen has been represented since 2017 by Stephen Ryan, a Washington lawyer initially hired to prepare him for congressional testimony. When reached for comment by Vanity Fair, the lawyer replied, "Your alleged source is wrong!"

Still, sources told ABC that the new developments with regard to Cohen are expected to hit the White House, family members, staffers and counsels hard.

Trump allies view the legal cloud hanging over Trump's former attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen, as at least as ominous as the obstruction investigation. It's an attack on our country in a true sense. "That is really now on a whole new level of unfairness".

Fox Business correspondent Charlie Gasparino reportedly that an attorney for Michael Cohen has "complained for some time" that legal bills are not being paid.
