France drew 0-0 with the Danes and progress to the last 16 as Group C winners - meaning they will face the runners-up from Group D, either Croatia, Nigeria, Argentina or Iceland.

France topped Group C with seven points after earlier wins over Australia (2-1) and Peru (1-0), with Denmark second on five after earlier winning 1-0 over Peru and a 1-1 against the Socceroos.

A slow-paced game - officially No. 37 in Russian Federation - was out of step with a vibrant tournament and ensured already-qualified France won Group C and Denmark advanced as runner-up.

As it happened, Australia's defeat by Peru meant they could have lost this game and still advanced but they now march on and are 18 games unbeaten.

And he has taken that form in the World Cup with one goal and one assist in Denmark's first two games. "Hopefully, at one point in this World Cup, we will find in our best form".

There have already been 20 penalties given at this World Cup, a tournament record before the group stage has even concluded. Both the teams are playing their last group match. As far as betting is concerned, we are not getting a good enough price to wager on the French so the outright result is a market which I would avoid. The 33-year-old made his first and only save in the 54th minute, spilling Christian Eriksen's free-kick before pouncing on the loose ball. A second yellow card before the semifinals triggers a one-game ban.

"We haven't done our best in terms of play but we've worked very hard for the points".

Eriksen drilled wide in the 59th minute as Age Hareide's side took control of the contest, although France substitute Nabil Fekir rippled the side-netting with an ambitious drive shortly after his introduction for lacklustre Griezmann. They met a solid Danish defence content with the draw.

Denmark gets an extra day off and plays the Group D victor, likely Croatia, on Sunday evening in Nizhny Novgorod.

Denmark has a tough defense anchored by veteran captain Simon Kjaer, and a high-class goalkeeper in Kasper Schmeichel.
