On Monday, Facebook revealed that a bug had affected the privacy settings of 800,000 users.
Egan said that the issue has now been fixed and all of the block settings have been restored. People are blocked for harsher reasons, such as harassment or bullying, Egan added. In a blog post, chief privacy officer Erin Egan noted that the unblocking did not surface information shared with friends, but did show things posted to wider audiences, for example, images users shared with friends of friends.

Affected users will be notified, and the unblocked users have been automatically re-blocked by Facebook.
