  • GETTY FILMMAGICRudy Guiliani said London Mayor Sadiq Khan should focus more on crime in London than President Trump

As U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May's "embarrassing sham of a government" continued its slow-motion collapse on Monday with the resignation of Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, British authorities scrambled to prepare for "unprecedented" protests against U.S. President Donald Trump's upcoming visit by launching a major police mobilizationaimed at containing what organizers have dubbed "The Carnival of Resistance".

The six-metre high blimp, dubbed "Trump Baby", has been granted permission to fly above Parliament Square for two hours on Friday morning. No, that's not true: an old story from January about Trump aborting a visit to open the new U.S. Embassy suddenly went viral again in July, causing many people to believe Trump had blown off the July visit too.

If the U.S president wants to visit a traditional London pub during his visit then he will be assured of a warm welcome in one hostelry.

He has clashed in the past with May - even though she is a fellow conservative who shares his view that defense spending should be hiked - and with her predecessor, David Cameron, who challenged Trump's anti-Muslim campaign stance as "divisive, stupid and wrong". We greatly respect America as a generous place built up by immigrants over the years.

And tension could be sparked as Mrs May expects the USA president to remember the "malign behaviour" of Russian Federation when he meets Mr Putin.

He is mostly skipping London to avoid protests.

Britain and the United States again showed their solidarity on defence and security in April, when May risked the wrath of a sceptical parliament by joining a USA -led bombing campaign against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces, after they agreed Assad was behind a chemical weapons attack on civilians in Douma.

The protests have been planned and the big balloon is ready - Donald Trump is about to visit the UK.

The US embassy in London issued an unprecedented warning to American citizens of the United Kingdom on Wednesday, urging them to "keep a low profile" during President Donald Trump's four-day trip to the country which is set to be accompanied by a barrage of nationwide protests.

American nationals have been told to be careful on the streets of London during planned demonstrations against Donald Trump later this week.

But any good vibrations from that moment soon dissipated when Trump, the same day, announced plans to ban migrants from seven Muslim-majority countries - a decision that drew fierce worldwide criticism and appeared to blindside May.

Trump's trip coincides with a tumultuous week for May after two senior ministers resigned in protest at her plans for trade with the European Union after Britain leaves next March. Thousands of people are expected to turn out. It was an extraordinary rebuke from a close ally.

Mr Trump is the 12th sitting U.S. president to make such a trip and will spend time with the Queen and prime minister before flying to Scotland to spend the weekend at his golf resort.

A chopper will fly him to the U.S. ambassador's residence in Regents Park, Central London.

Trump is not expected to spend time in central London.
