Crenshaw is a popular fixture in the area, known for painting on canvases along a trendy stretch in South Beach, according to theMiami New Times.

Police arrested and charged Jonathan Crenshaw with aggravated battery.

The publication has profiled Crenshaw in the past and found he has had multiple run-ins with police and other officials, including violent crime charges.

Jonathan Crenshaw, 46, used his feet to hold scissors and stabbed Cesar Coronado, 22, Miami Beach police said Wednesday.

Barrientos described the attacker to police as a homeless man with no arms.

A man vacationing in South Beach was stabbed just after midnight Tuesday by a man with no arms. He told officers that the stabbing was in self defense, after Coronado came up to him when he was lying down and punched him in the head, police said.

Coronado was visiting the area with his friend from Chicago.

A female friend of the victim told police the pair stopped to ask Crenshaw for directions when he pulled out an unknown object and stabbed Coronado before running away.

He was taken to the hospital.

Police found Crenshaw a short distance away, on the 200 block of Lincoln Road. He is now being held on $7,500 bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Crenshaw has a court date on July 18; his bond has been set at $7,500.
