Liverpool star Jordan Henderson has revealed what manager Jurgen Klopp has said about England's superb run to the semi-finals of the World Cup. Henderson has been manager Gareth Southgate's first-choice defensive midfielder for the tournament, starting every single match apart from against Belgium when Southgate played a largely second string side with qualification already secured.

"I think that's the biggest thing so far to come out of it and we just want to continue doing everybody proud".

The Liverpool skipper has earned praises from pundits for his role in England's impressive campaign so far at the World Cup in Russian Federation.

England are out of the World Cup after losing 2-1 to Croatia in Moscow tonight, with Mario Mandzukic striking the victor in extra time.

The 28-year-old has not tasted defeat in an England shirt since the last World Cup four years ago, going on a 30-match unbeaten run that is the longest of any player in the country's history.

After that, he will have three weeks' break before returning to Merseyside for pre-season training with Liverpool - whose season gets underway against West Ham at Anfield on August 12.

Henderson really started coming into his own in the second half of the season for Liverpool and helped them get into the final of the Champions League, after his performances in Russian Federation he's really cementing himself as a top central midfielder.
