Ritz products recalled over salmonella fears

Ritz issued a recall Saturday of certain cracker sandwiches and Ritz Bits products over concerns they could contain ingredients contaminated with salmonella.

There have been not been any reported illnesses in connection to the products.

Mondelez Global says it's voluntarily recalling some of its Ritz Cracker products over potential risk of salmonella.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has notified the public of the recalls from No Name and Christie brand products (CFIA). Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections.

However, consumers should discard any of these products they may have, the company said.
