AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci is seeking a return to Juventus after just 12 months at the San Siro according to new club general manager Leonardo.

AC Milan captain Leonardo Bonucci is ready to make a shock return back to Juventus.

And Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the Bianconeri want to bring back former defender Bonucci as part of the deal for the £54m-rated striker, who is also wanted by Chelsea.

So how serious are the preliminary discussions between the Milan and Juve?

Leonardo has returned to Milan in the sporting director role.

Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United were both thought to be interested in landing Bonucci, however the pink paper suggests that negotiations between Milan and Juve have taken place, with the player himself keen to stay in Serie A.

While affirming that Bonucci was seeking a way out, Leonardo added that he could yet stay for another term at Milan, who have recently fallen into the hands of USA hedge fund Elliott Management.
