  • Dan Rather blasts Trump for ‘racist’ criticism of Le Bron James Don Lemon

James, one of the most prominent athletes in the U.S., has been critical of Trump for years.

"Lebron James was just interviewed by the dumbest man on television, Don Lemon", he wrote.

President Donald Trump fired off on Twitter Friday night, targeting Los Angeles Laker LeBron James over his interview earlier in the week with CNN's Don Lemon.

In an interview that aired Monday on CNN, James repeated a point he has made before that he believes Mr. Trump is using sports to divide Americans.

"LeBron James certainly didn't build this school to give her a photo-op", she continued.

Another said: "So Trump finally went at LeBron, huh?"

LeBron James is one of the greatest pro basketball players in history. He's doing an fantastic job for his community, " Jordan said in a statement to The Associated Press through his representative via text Saturday. I hope he saw Trump's tweet, shook his head, laughed a little, and kept doing the good things he's doing.

The first lady, however, is apparently unaffected by the animus James has toward her husband, nor does she appear to be letting the President's statement about James affect her own feelings on the matter.

"Her platform centres around visiting organizations, hospitals and schools, and she would be open to visiting the I Promise School in Akron", Grisham said. James was on Lemon's show to discuss the opening of his I Promise school for at-risk children in Akron, Ohio.

In the interview, the National Basketball Association superstar said the President was using athletics and athletes to split up the country and would not sit down across from Trump if he were given the opportunity.

Trump's criticism of the interview did not come until Friday night when he hit up Twitter to allude that he prefers Michael Jordan over LeBron.

Jordan actually responded to the president's tweet in a statement to the Associated Press.

Prior to Buss, Jordan also voiced his support of James. The CNN anchor asked rhetorically, "Who's the real dummy?" But commenting on someone's intelligence, including his own, has always been a Trump trope. I got an opportunity to see them and learn about them, and they got an opportunity to learn about me, and we became very good friends.

"I support LeBron James".
