Samsung Galaxy Note9 is up for pre-order in India

Samsung unveiled its next major smartphone at a NY event on Thursday.

The Galaxy Note 9 sports a 6.4-inch Infinity Display with dual-curved edges, as one would expect in premium Samsung phones. The Galaxy Note 9 has arrived with beefed up specs, but its design is nearly identical to its predecessor.

On the photography front, the Note 9 comes with 12MP+12MP dual-rear camera setup. The S Pen still uses Wacom technology though, so it's just the Bluetooth that uses the battery.

Now, the Galaxy Note 9 has an even smarter camera and some of the most powerful specs ever seen on a smartphone.

How to buy it: The Galaxy Note 9 will be available for purchase from August 24, including possibly in India. If I had to rank the best smartphone cameras right now it would be Pixel 2, Note 9 and then iPhone X (which is only in third due to the fact that it struggles in low light situations). This top-end processing power comes accompanied by 6GB or 8GB RAM, and there will be two variants to this device - 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 512GB.

Now the brand spanking new Galaxy Note 9 is here and the company is determined to ensure that history won't repeat itself.

- The Note 9 supports face unlock, animated emojis and has a fingerprint sensor.

Verizon is offering the Galaxy Note 9's 128GB model at $41.66 a month for 24 months, or the full retail price of $999.99.

When the Note first came out, the S Pen was really only useful for swipe typing, doodling and writing quick notes. The AI software detects blurred images, bad lighting and stains on the lens. It can be used to take a photo, Play/Pause YouTube videos, go through slides in PowerPoint. The phone also houses AI-powered scene recognition, which optimises camera settings for flawless shots.

"In the US, Alexa is very entrenched and so is Google Assistant, so it might be a challenge, but not so much in other parts of the world", Moorhead said.

"Customers can pre-order the smartphone on the Airtel Online Store starting August 11, 2018 and Airtel will begin the delivery of the device starting August 22, 2018", it added.

The 128 GB and 512 GB models of the Note 9 will be respectively available in India for Rs. 67,900 and Rs. 84,000.
