Amazon India Launches Hindi Website, App to expand business

Amazon India, on Tuesday, said that its e-commerce website and mobile application were available in Hindi to reach next 100 million consumers in the country.
Users can choose the Hindi option from the language option in the menu from amazon.in website, which will be later set as default.
According to a report in NY times, Amazon's research found that 8 out of 10 Indian customers would prefer to shop in a language other than English and the company believes that the next 100 million customers will have to be in the vernacular language.
"The launch of Hindi shopping experience is a significant step towards bringing the next 100 million customers online". The development also comes days after the company's assisted shopping service, Amazon Easy, formally kickstarted through more than 200 Amazon Easy stores in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Even Flipkart is not available in Hindi.
Now Amazon is aiming to break through that language barrier.
