The Boston Celtics guard was arrested Friday night in Boston and faces charges for an alleged assault, WBZ-TV's I-Team reported Saturday morning.

The Boston Celtics are about to have a significantly troubling incident on their hands. The victim was taken to a separate hospital for injuries sustained.

The Celtics added that management is "taking it very seriously".

"We are actively gathering information and will reserve further comment at this time", the statement read. Boston Police's domestic violence unit is now investigating. Signed to a one-year, two-way contract, he spent the majority of his rookie season with Boston's G-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws.

She has 23 Grand Slams to her name and is just one Grand Slam away from equalling the world record set by Margaret Court (24). Williams, who will turn 37 later this month, would break her own record for the oldest Grand Slam women's champion.

Bird, 24, appeared in 13 regular season games for the Celtics last season and averaged 3.0 points per game.

"Complaints will be sought against the suspect for Assault & Battery 209A, Strangulation and Kidnapping", according to a police statement given to NBC 10 Boston.

Bird is expected to be arraigned on Monday.

Looking to earn some semblance of a role with the Celtics, getting into serious legal trouble as Bird has is not the path towards a promising National Basketball Association career.
