We have avoided significant rainfall for most of the area so far this month but that changes quickly starting this evening.

The front that has stalled over central IN will be the focus for additional showers and thunderstorms on Friday.

Some parts of Eagle Country could see three to five inches of rain by the end of the storms on Sunday.

A widespread soaking rain is forecast for our part of Missouri and IL for the start of the weekend with scattered thunderstorms continuing to move in this afternoon.

Korea Says Korean Leaders to Meet on Denuclearization
Trump at a summit in June , hardly any progress has been made in getting the North to hand over its nuclear weapons. North Korea's message has been delivered to White House National Security Adviser John Bolton , Seoul said.

The system is expected to meet a cold front moving across Oklahoma and produce more rain in the two states while pushing the remnants northward into Missouri.

"These higher amounts will likely be just north of Lakes Erie and Ontario", the statement said.

In addition to widespread heavier rainfall locally, excessive rain to our north has resulted in higher river levels. Highs will only be in the low to mid-80s. Expect heavy rain and storms to ramp up with some stronger storms on the table Sunday afternoon, especially in eastern Kentucky.

Rain totals should have no problem reaching 2"-4" over the course of Friday/Saturday/Sunday with some higher totals certainly possible. Everyone in central in needs to be aware that Flash Flooding is a danger this weekend and you should not drive through a flooded roadway.
