1,000 feet of spider webs blanket large part of Greek town

In 2015, a similar event was reported with Tetragnatha spiders in Dallas, Texas where webbing took over a "football-field" length area.

The white blanket sprung up in Aitoliko, a city in western Greece. After all, these types of spiders are known to build very big nests for their mating season.

Local man Giannis Giannakopoulos shared images of a "huge veil" of spider webs - saying that the spiders seemed to be catching and eating a lot of mosquitoes.
