Google thinks they may have a solution, though, and it's called Project Stream.
Google just announced "Project Stream", a "technical test" of a service created to stream AAA video games à la Playstation Now and GeForce Now.
'Starting on October 5, a limited number of participants will get to play the latest in this best-selling franchise at no charge for the duration of the Project Stream test, ' Google said.
The plan that Google has been working on involves use of its cloud servers to broadcast the games to users over the internet.
Yale Law School disowns its embattled old boy, Brett Kavanaugh
He'd do so, Flake said, if the vote was delayed a week so the FBI could investigate "credible allegations" against the nominee. On Thursday, both Ford and Kavanaugh testified in a contentious hearing .
Source says FBI hasn't contacted Ford yet
Mitchell provided details to each point using Ford's own testimony, her polygraph test, and the letter she sent to Feinstein. "Dr. Ford identified other witnesses to the event, and those witnesses either refuted her allegations or failed to corroborate them".
U.S. Justice Department Sues California Over Net Neutrality Law
Jerry Brown has signed into law the strictest set of net neutrality protections ever seen in the US. FCC chairman Ajit Pai described California's law as illegal and bad for consumers.
Google spends the rest of its announcement blog post detailing the difficulties in streaming interactive content at such fidelity (i.e. a blockbuster video game) with the near-zero latency required for interactivity. It seems like there were actually some truth behind those rumors as today Google announced Project Stream. If you want to be part of that potential sea change, sign up right here. "When streaming TV or movies, consumers are comfortable with a few seconds of buffering at the start, but streaming high-quality games requires latency measured in milliseconds, with no graphic degradation". It saves users from taking up hardware space with large video games (which can sometimes be larger than 100 GBs) and opens up the possibility of services that allow players to play games for a limited time on a subscription basis. You will need to be a 17-years or older resident of the USA, ideally with a 25 megabits per second connection to quality, though.
Interested parties can now sign up via the official Google Project Stream page to secure a Project Stream test spot, though there's limited space reserved for users with internet speeds of at least 25mbps. These are issues that now make streaming games frustrating and a hurdle for many, considering the size and scope of larger, blockbuster games like the latest "Assassin's Creed".
As for Ubisoft, the company believes there's "tremendous potential" in streaming.
