Three Republican senators likely hold in their hands Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court following last week's dramatic hearing into the allegation by Christine Blasey Ford of a decades-old sexual assault.

As the FBI completed interviews with four people as part of its one-week investigation into the allegations against Kavanaugh, moderate Republican Sen.

The Senate's Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer of NY, accused Kavanaugh of delivering a "partisan screed" during the judiciary committee hearing last week.

The chairman of the committee, Sen. Ramirez has separately accused Kavanaugh in a report from The New Yorker of inappropriate sexual behavior related to his time at Yale.

Ford said that Smyth was also at the party where she alleges that Kavanaugh attacked her. Her attorney, Michael Avenatti, told the AP Monday she had not yet been contacted by agents.

State Rep. Geoff Diehl, a Whitman Republican who is running against Warren, told the Herald he continues to believe Kavanaugh should be confirmed, but said he's always happy to see elected officials explaining their decisions to the public.

The FBI will also question Leland Keyser and P.J. Smyth, two people who Ford said were at the gathering of teenagers where Kavanaugh allegedly assaulted her. By praising Kavanaugh's accuser Chistine Blasey Ford as a "fine woman" and a "very credible witness", Trump has positioned himself in a sweet spot ahead of Federal Bureau of Investigation returning the Kavanaugh dossier to him this week. He said she was cooperating with the investigation. "We simply can't", Flake said at an event hosted by The Atlantic. "At the time he tweeted that, there were severe restrictions on the FBI investigation".

The fight over Kavanaugh's nomination to a lifetime job on the top US court comes against the backdrop of the #MeToo movement fighting sexual harassment and assault that has toppled a succession of powerful men.

Over the weekend, reports began to surface that FBI investigators were looking into the allegations from Ford and Ramirez, but not Swetnick. They are all, by construction, conservatives or "originalists", orthodox on the sanctity of gun rights, property rights, unlimited campaign spending, and deference to Republican but not Democratic legislation and legislatures.

A Republican senator has raised concerns about US President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's "partisan" tone at last week's hearing into sexual misconduct allegations.

Prior to the rally, numerous groups of Trump supporters gathered along the motorcade route from the airport to the Landers Center.

"I think that Judge Kavanaugh is doing pretty well, it seems to me, over the last 24 hours", Trump said.

Lifelong teetotaler Donald Trump is already loud, brash and provocative, so just imagine him after a few drinks, the U.S. president quipped Monday.

"You know what? They are not angels", he said.

"I want it to be comprehensive", Trump said, while also adding he wants it to be done "quickly". "It doesn't necessarily have to be a woman", Trump said.

During the 1990s, Kavanaugh aggressively pursued investigations into then-president Bill Clinton while working for independent counsel Kenneth Starr.

"They should interview anyone they want within reason. It's a very scary situation where you're guilty until proven innocent".

"It's about time", say multiple male professionals in IT and banking Firstpost spoke with this week after Kavanaugh's testimony and immediately after Trump's comments today.
