Brooks Koepka says he is "torn up" after finding out the spectator he accidentally hit in the eye with a golf ball at the Ryder Cup is blind in one eye.

"Doctors told me I had lost the use of that eye", she said, adding she is considering legal action against tournament organizers to recoup medical expenses.

The rumoured fall-out with Johnson added to an already hard few days for Koepka, who accidentally hit a spectator in the eye with a tee shot leaving her permanently blinded.

Ryder Cup organisers have stated that "fore" was "shouted several times" and that they had been in contact with Remande and her family.

Brooks Koepka has refuted claims that he and World No.1 Dustin Johnson were involved in any altercations either before or after the Ryder Cup, stating that he thinks everyone is looking for excuses as to why the better-on-paper U.S team lost resoundingly in Paris. He says the two have never raised their voice at each other.

Corine Remande, 49, was struck in the eye by Koepka's drive on the sixth hole at Le Golf National on the opening day of the event that pitches Team Europe against Team USA. "I didn't feel like the ball had struck my eye and then I felt the blood start to pour".

He said: "Yesterday was probably one of the worst days of my life", Koepka said.

He also took to social media about the incident, explaining he was heartbroken and had reached out to her and her family. "I mean, we're really good friends and there was no argument".

"It's so nice to be on the golf course, to see the players".

"It's actually quite amusing to us", he said. How could we get into a fight on the flight over? We're two even-keel guys. Now I can see why we take it for granted every week how courses are set-up and why.

Three-time major victor Koepka also dismissed talk of a fight between himself and teammate Dustin Johnson in the aftermath of Europe's convincing win against the United States. I can't remember raising my voice to him. You know exactly how they are feeling, especially when you've got to go over there and apologise, because they are in pain, usually bleeding, and then to hit her in the face - you don't want to hit anybody in the face, especially not a woman, and it's not a good feeling'.
