Trump says Chicago police should ‘stop and frisk’ to curb violence

  • U.S. President Donald Trump shakes hands with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein at the conclusion of a roundtable on immigration and the gang MS-13 at the Morrelly Homeland Security Center in Bethpage New York U.S

Trump and Rosenstein met for about 30 minutes during the flight, White House spokesman Hogan Gidley said, declining to provide further details about the private discussion other than to say that Rosenstein still had a job.

Those reports triggered an avalanche of speculation about the future of Rosenstein - and also the special counsel's investigation into possible co-ordination between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign since the deputy attorney general appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller to his post and closely oversees his work.

Rosenstein is joining Trump for an address to the annual convention of the International Association of Police Chiefs. But when he showed up at the White House last Monday to meet with Kelly, he left the meeting unscathed. "I know the law enforcement people in Chicago and I know how good they are, they could solve the problem if they were simply allowed to do their job and do their job properly", he said.

Late last month, it was reported that Rosenstein suggested secretly recording the President and discussed recruiting Cabinet members to remove Trump from office.

"The press wants to know, 'What did you talk about?'" Trump said at the start of his speech after he thanked Rosenstein for being there and noted the intense media interest. They postponed the meeting amid the Kavanaugh confirmation battle and speculation has abounded that Trump might fire Rosenstein.

How José Mourinho Is Killing Manchester United
After the forthcoming worldwide break, their next six games include matches against Chelsea, Juventus twice and Manchester City . Migliaccio also does not believe Zidane wants to manage in England either, suggesting his style differs from the English game.

The documents reportedly chronicle conversations in which Rosenstein discussed the idea of secretly recording Trump for the goal of invoking the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.

Trump said Monday that the two men will be "talking on the plane" and said he looks "forward to being with him".

Trump also indicated that he was ready to keep working with Rosenstein. It is not unusual for senior Justice Department officials to join Trump at such events. Democrats believe it would raise questions about whether Trump would shut down the Mueller probe, which could energize their voters in House and Senate races.

Asked by a reporter on Monday if he had any plans to fire Rosenstein, Trump said: "No I don't, no".

But even as Trump has made a decision to leave Rosenstein in place - for now - the matter of what Rosenstein said and proposed doing likely will remain a political issues heading into the homestretch of the midterms - and beyond.
