The Egyptian King bagged a brace in Liverpool's stunning 4-0 Champions League victory over Red Star Belgrade, which came after Saturday's match-winning performance against Huddersfield, during which he fired in the only goal of the game as the Reds maintained their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

That was nothing compared to the reception Shaqiri can expect in Belgrade, but he will not be requesting to stay at home.

"I've seen him lots of times and his play is still very, very good". I don't really care what people are saying.

"This group obviously stays exciting until the end, that was I thought pretty clear immediately after the draw, but you can not do more than win your own games, and then the situation changes in your favour".

Speaking to Serbian newspaper Kurir last month, Red Star general director Zvezdan Terzic said Shaqiri would be protected from "unwanted situations" but speculated the midfielder might not want to play.

"I'm just going there for a football game and it's not about politics - it's about football".

"The first goal he scored was genius little link-up play from Shaq, I don't know how he did that!"

One user felt compelled to drag "The One with Ross" Sandwich' episode into the discussion. Blackpool Police saw the amusing side and joined in with jokes about the show.

"I think he would say thanks to his teammates because it's quite hard to score goals without these wonderful passes and crosses", Klopp said of Salah's feat.

"You should not think about it, how can I possibly score again?" I am enjoying the football here and you can see that on the pitch.

Unfortunately for those Red Star fans, Shaqiri produced a brilliant performance during the 4-0 win before being replaced after 68 minutes.

Summer signing Fabinho also impressed at Anfield on Wednesday in what was just his second start for Liverpool following his €50 million move from Monaco.

Shaqiri said: 'Sometimes it is not simple because the manager changes a few things, but you have to do your best.

"It's good that we can maybe stop talking about that".

"If we think about the same period of time - up until the middle of October - his record is very similar to past year".
