Rick Scott wins first election lawsuit

  • Marco Rubio Democrats steal elections

The Republican candidate for Senate there, Governor Rick Scott, has seen his lead over incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson shrink since Election Day.

Broward County Elections Supervisor Brenda Snipes was being sued by Florida Gov. Rick Scott's senate campaign and the National Republican Senatorial Committee for alleged "incompetence" because she has not formally announced how many votes were left to count.

They also have asked a federal court to extend the deadline for counties to submit unofficial election results.

No one answered at Snipes' office late Thursday.

A hearing began just after 3 p.m. Friday.

Elias said he thinks Nelson will end up holding his seat after a recount is completed.

A Hawaiian telescope first spotted "Oumuamua", meaning "a messenger from afar, arriving first" in Hawaiian, in October 2017. Multiple telescopes focused on the object for three nights to determine what it was before it moved out of sight.

The "Emergency Recount Fund", as the campaign dubbed it says the money will be used "to ensure every vote is counted", but also vowed legal action "when necessary".

His lawsuits accused Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes and Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher of mishandling the ballot count and preventing observers from having full access as votes are counted.

Florida is the definitive swing state in US politics, and it's not uncommon for major statewide races to be decided by the narrowest of margins. A recount would be automatically triggered if the candidates are within 0.5 points of each other and the machine recount would need to be completed by 3 p.m. on November 15. But Florida's ballot chaos - rife with intrigue and Trump's accusation of abuse by officials in Democrat-heavy counties - raises fresh questions about why the world's most powerful democracy is incapable of producing swift and accurate election results across all 50 states. Nevertheless, this design issue appears to be one that was specifically anticipated and addressed in the past, but disregarded in Broward County's 2018 ballot.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) cited the development as clear evidence that Democrats are in cahoots with Broward County election officials to try and steal the election. Those are the U.S. Senate race, Florida Governor's race, and the contest for state Agriculture Commissioner.

Joe Scarborough believes that Florida Senator Marco Rubio is "concocting a conspiracy theory" created to suppress votes from being counted in two very close races in Florida.

Trump disparaged top Democratic election attorney Marc Elias, who's led recount efforts in other states and joined the legal team of Nelson's campaign, as "their best Election stealing lawyer". Two days after voting has concluded, the Supervisor Of Elections is unwilling to disclose records revealing how many electors voted, how many ballots have been canvassed, and how many ballots remain to be canvassed. "We believe that at the end of this process that Senator Nelson is going to be declared the victor". Scott's election night 56,000-vote margin over Nelson shrank to just over 15,000 votes -- within the margin that triggers an automatic recount -- by Thursday night. The majority of uncounted votes are in Palm Beach and Broward County, which are traditionally democratic strongholds.

The president has also called out Florida's contentious race for governor between Democrat Andrew Gillum and Republican Ron DeSantis.
