During her appearance on Thursday night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live", former first lady Michelle Obama smugly threw some shade at her successor Melania Trump over reports of the recent ousting of White House staffer following a tiff with the first lady. Kimmel tossed the bait. Obama responded while appearing to know where the conversation was headed.

During the interview, host Jimmy Kimmel acknowledged that Obama has repeatedly said that she wasn't running for office, but asked her if anyone "seriously approached and try to convince" her to do so.

As she shared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and in her new memoir Becoming, Obama was watching the coverage and realized she needed to do more to truly experience the historic moment.

Kimmel asked Obama to share which celebrity she texted with most often, to which Obama initially demurred, noting that she doesn't "text and tell". So, Kimmel took it upon himself to write up some things Obama could say out loud and gave them to her on cards. She lets us in on her journey through marriage, motherhood, and transformation from a deeply reluctant public figure into a global icon.

Michelle Obama revealed that even though she's now "unemployed", she's enjoying her life after the White House.

"I'm not sure which one's Sasha and which one's Malia", Obama continued.
