Apple foldable iPad? No, just an easily bendable iPad Pro

  • Getting the Apple Air Pods on sale is super rare which is why we were so excited for this Black Friday deal

The extent to which you can bend an Apple gadget before it breaks dates back to 2014, when the company released the iPhone 6 Plus. You won't want anyone to sit on it, or have it bend while you're lugging it around in a backpack or suitcase.

Since then, there's been an obsession with testing how durable these expensive pieces of consumer technology are when subjected to "stress tests".

If product destruction porn is your jam, the rest of the video is pretty interesting as well, particularly if you have an itch to see the guts of either the iPad Pro or the Apple Pencil. A tablet which, with full spec and a few necessary add-ons, can cost over £2,000.

As The Verge rightly points out, other iPad models can also bend a lot easier than iPhones, so it's not like this is a major discovery.

This is a great video to check out if you're mulling a new tablet purchase. Like tinfoil wrapped around mashed potatoes'.

That, unfortunately, isn't going to happen in time for one poor iPad Pro, after YouTuber JerryRigEverything decided it would make for plenty of views if he took an iPad Pro and bent it in half. And it's safe to assume that if the 11-inch bends this way, the 12.9-inch version definitely does too.

Though various reports of bending iPad Pro tablets have emerged, as it stands it seems that the issue isn't widespread. You will of course not do this to your iPad Pro, but after seeing this video you'll probably double check for risks of sitting on it. According to Nelson, "the iPad Pro just doesn't have any of that structural integrity stuff". The bending test video starts with the Apple Pencil that breaks with a surprising amount of ease; only slightly more than the force it takes to break a normal wooden pencil was needed to break the Apple Pencil.
