Roommate Accused Of Stealing $10 Million Lottery Ticket

Authorities have arrested a California man they say tried to steal his roommate's $10 million winning lotteryticket. A ticket worth an incredible $10 million!
Police say 35-year-old Adul Saosongyangstole his roommate's winning $30 scratcher ticket and swapped it with a different one, thinking the ticket was worth $10,000.
Suspecting that his roommate had swapped it, he immediately called police to report the theft.
The next day, the real ticket was allegedly presented by the winner's roommate at a lottery office - where he was told the ticket was really worth $10 million, not $10,000.
On Dec. 20, the lucky victor purchased a Scratchers ticket and was ecstatic to win what he thought was $10,000, police told KTLA.
Unawares of all this, Saosongyang was told he'd be able to collect his winnings on 7 January from the Lottery Sacramento's headquarters in California. Numerous scratch-off winners have later been unmasked for stealing the tickets, either from friends or from the grocery stores where they were employed.
Turns out, according to Vacaville police, the man's ticket was not his ticket.

The roommate purchased the ticket on December 20 at a grocery store.
On Monday, the investigator summoned Saosongyang to the Sacramento office to collect his winnings. But instead of receiving a large check from officals, Saosongyang was instead arrested by Vacaville police who had obtained an arrest warrant for him for grand theft.
Lieutenant Chris Polen told the Daily News Saosongyang had been transferred from the Sacramento County Jail to a smaller one Wednesday morning. It is unclear if he has retained an attorney.
"And we had a discussion with him because he said, 'No, I won".
"Although, I'm sure everything will work out in the end", he concluded in an email to The Washington Post, adding a smiley face.
