In her plea for support two days before the parliament's vote, May said lawmakers must not let down the people who voted for Brexit, Reuters reported.

Corbyn declined to say whether a Labour manifesto for a snap election would promise to deliver Brexit, arguing that this would be up to party processes, but strongly indicated his preference would be to depart with a deal that keeps the United Kingdom in a customs union and with access to the single market.

'Doing so would be a catastrophic and unforgivable breach of trust in our democracy.

Her stark warning came as Downing Street said it was "extremely concerned" about a backbench plot to change Commons rules to enable backbench motions to take precedence over Government business if Mrs May's deal falls.

Described as "a very British coup", the plan would see May lose control of parliamentary business to MPs, threatening her ability to govern, according to the newspaper.

Britain, the world's fifth largest economy, is scheduled to quit the European Union on 29 March.

My message to Parliament this weekend is simple: it is time to forget the games and do what is right for our country.

It was previously thought only ministers could put a halt to Britain leaving with no deal.

We actually caught the journalists doing it, we banned them for two days, and then everyone defended them stoically. If we are going to talk about culturally and say I did it somewhere else and it's fine, I don't believe that.

But should Mrs May's deal be voted down, then a whole host of scenarios could play out.

Former minister Robert Halfon and Labour's Lucy Powell have published a report outlining a "Common Market 2.0" vision for a Norway-style Brexit.

Mr Hunt suggested that legally binding assurances from Brussels over the deal's controversial backstop arrangements should be enough to allay the fears of many MPs over the long-term impact of the Agreement.

MPs are widely expected to reject the deal, negotiated between the European Union and United Kingdom, with more than 100 Conservative MPs among those opposing it.

The Cabinet ministers were speaking as MPs prepared for the third day of debate in the House of Commons ahead of next Tuesday's crunch vote, with Home Secretary Sajid Javid opening proceedings which are expected to be dominated by the issue of migration.

More than 100 Conservatives and 10 DUP MPs are among those set to oppose the government's deal on Tuesday.

While a large majority of party members, according to polling, want Corbyn to actively seek a new referendum, the Labour leader has previously said it is more likely he would push to take the United Kingdom out of Europe with a different deal.

In an interview with BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Mr Hunt warned that failure to deliver Brexit would be "incredibly damaging" for the United Kingdom and something the country would regret for "many, many generations".
