The company is also charged with violating USA sanctions on Iran and conspiring to obstruct justice related to the investigation.

The US Justice Department unsealed two indictments on Monday against China's Huawei Technologies, several of its subsidiaries and its chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou, in a pair of cases accusing the company of everything from bank and wire fraud to obstructing justice and conspiring to steal trade secrets from T-Mobile US Inc.

The White House is preparing an executive order to declare a national emergency that would bar USA companies from using telecommunications equipment made by China's Huawei and ZTE.

There have also been reports by the Wall Street Journal and others that the Justice Department was nearing an indictment related to allegations that Huawei stole robotic technology from carrier T-Mobile US Inc to test smartphones' durability.

Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker was joined by Department of Homeland (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, FBI Director Christopher Wray, Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross and several US attorneys for the announcement at DOJ headquarters on Monday.
