  • A suspect identified as Kenneth W. Lilly 31 is seen firing shots in a video released Wednesday by the Minnesota Department of Transportation

The 31-year-old was charged with second-degree attempted murder and second-degree assault with a unsafe weapon.

"The actions of Mr. Lilly were outrageous and it was sheer luck that neither the bus driver nor the little girl were killed", Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman said in a statement. He's expected in court Friday.

Lilly kept walking until he got to the passenger door of the bus and tried to get into the bus, according to the complaint.

The complaint said the bus driver was trying to merge onto the interstate in inclement weather when the bus scraped Lilly's vehicle.

Lilly later called 911 to report the shooting. Police spokesman John Elder says the driver's injuries were not life-threatening.

The 78-year-old bus driver, who wishes to remain anonymous, is still in satisfactory condition at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Fire at training ground of Brazilian club Flamengo -- 10 dead
Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr came through Flamengo's system and not long ago was living in the training facility. The club spent roughly $6.2 million to expand the training ground known as "Ninho do Urubu" over the past year.

"We're there to make that scene safe, but as far as the mindset of the individual at this time, I do not have any information on that", Minneapolis Police Chief Mederia Arradondo said. Lilly told police it was self defense. Video showed Lilly walking toward the front driver's side corner as the bus appeared to slowly pull into traffic. That's when he steps from his auto and walks back to the school bus and begins shooting into the windshield.

The bus driver suffered a shot to his head and was taken to a local hospital.

Lilly, who was wearing his security guard uniform, pulled a handgun from his holster and fired at the bus windshield, wounding the driver's left arm and grazing his head.

According to a criminal complaint, Minneapolis police officers were called to a shooting Tuesday on Interstate 35W near Chicago Avenue.

Lilly told officers he shot at the driver because he feared for his safety.
