U.S. military disrupted Russian troll farm on day of November election

The US agency responsible for military cyber operations cut off internet connectivity at the Internet Research Agency in Russian Federation on the day of the 2018 midtermelections, according to a report in The Washington Post on Tuesday.
Citing unnamed security officials, the newspaper reported that U.S. Cyber Command cut off Internet access to the St. Petersburg-based Internet Research Agency on Election Day in November 2018 and for a few days afterward.
Individuals familiar with the issue told The Washington Post that "they basically took the IRA offline" for a day or so.
Russian trolls were awfully quiet during the 2018 Midterms. "They shut 'em down".
"NBC News has now confirmed that President Trump personally signed off on this offensive cyber operation against a Russian troll farm", NBC News national security reporter Ken Dilanian wrote later on Twitter.
