  • A row of new Tesla superchargers are seen outside of the Tesla Factory

Using a Model 3 Long Range as an example, the auto can gain 75 miles of range in just five minutes, with a per-hour charge rate of up to 1,000 miles (were the vehicle able to hold such a charge).

Tesla has also developed a new feature to help reduce charging times for Model 3 owners.

Tesla is speeding up charging with the third generation of its Supercharger.

While the Supercharger V3 stations are now optimized for the Model 3, owners of the electric sedan will have to make sure that their vehicle is updated to version 2019.7.11 to get access to the next-generation charger.

Conservatives target Ocasio-Cortez's 'Green New Deal' in NY billboards
A typical PAC has to disclose how the funds are used, including all campaign events, advertising, and donations to candidates. But while Ocasio-Cortez claimed that "none of this is whataboutism", not everyone seemed to be convinced by her reasoning.

On Wednesday night, Tesla announced that it has developed a new, faster Supercharger for its electric vehicles. The new chargers will initially roll out for the Model 3, with the capability being provided for the Model S and X via over-the-air software updates over the course of the next few months.

The electric auto firm's V3 Supercharger system is built on an entirely new architecture, with a 1MW power cabinet that can charge at up to 250kW per vehicle. Combined with other improvements, the V3 Superchargers will cut the amount of time customers spend waiting by an average of 50 percent, with the typical charging time expected to drop to around 15 minutes. When drivers navigate to a Supercharger, the vehicle will begin to warm the battery to an optimal level, thus resulting in less time spent charging. The next-generation charging station looks identical to the company's existing Supercharger V2 stations, save for thinner, liquid-cooled cables on the newer units. This is most likely to protect your battery, according to @tesla_raj, who stopped by Tesla's unveiling event tonight in Fremont, California.

However, it will take a while for V3 to come online: The first V3 Supercharging site is a beta-test location in the Bay Area, available for Tesla's Early Access customers, and the first non-beta location will break ground next month. More stations will follow, with North American sites ramping up in Q2 and Q3 ahead of the launch in Europe and Asia-Pacific in Q4.
