Tucker Carlson Addresses Criticism After Calling Women ‘Extremely Primitive’ in Resurfaced Audio

On Sunday night, the progressive media watchdog and research center Media Matters for America published a series of audio clips in which Fox News host Tucker Carlson made various crude and misogynistic remarks about women and feminists, underage marriage, and statutory rape.

While that tactic never works, the "one thing you can ever do", according to Carlson, is "acknowledge the comic absurdity of the whole thing". He tried out the "primitive" insult again, saying that Iraq is populated by "semi-literate primitive monkeys".

"They're just so very bad".

"Now this guy may be., may be a child rapist", Carlson said. "I mean, let's be honest about it".

Amid calls for Tucker to be fired, and a campaign to get advertisers to drop their commercials from his program, he is remaining defiant, calling his remarks merely "naughty".

In March of 2006, Carlson spoke on his desire for a presidential candidate to blame the "lunatic Muslims who are behaving like animals". In the meantime, Carlson's supporters have derided this report as a "hit piece" (despite it simply being Carlson's own words) or suggested that because these comments are a decade old, they're no longer relevant. A warning, it contains explicit language. "I'm just saying, if you mistreat dogs like that, we're going to have to execute you". I am not defending underage marriage at all. And I said this the other day and there was all this outrage and, "How could you say that", but I mean, this woman sells sex for a living. OK?

Canada sees second straight monthly employment surge with 55900 net new jobs
Job creation in Canada once again blew past expectations with 56,000 positions added in February - majority were full-time. The encouraging numbers provided a bright spot for the economy, which has posted disappointing data in recent months.

In the recordings Mr Carlson talks to the host, Todd Clem (known as Bubba the Love Sponge), as well as his anonymous co-host, about a range of current affairs. The 49-year-old refused to apologize for the audio of the calls which surfaced.

He said he believed his critics were motivated more by a lust for power than actual concerns.

"But what if we stopped pretending for a minute?" he asked before arguing that the Left ultimately seeks power by silencing the opposition. What if we acknowledged what's actually going on? That is a felony and a serious one at that. "They're not interested in abstractions or principles, rules or traditions", he said. No matter what they take from you in the end, you must continue to pretend that these things are true.

Then Carlson said that the network supported him.

Carlson has faced backlash in recent months after he made controversial comments about women and immigrants on his Fox News show, including saying that immigrants coming to the United States from impoverished regions make the country "poorer and dirtier". Rather than express the usual ritual of contrition, how about this: I'm on television every weeknight live for an hour.
