And maybe the Jets get lucky in Round 1 again and Nick Bosa falls to them.

The Minnesota Vikings will retain linebacker Anthony Barr after the star linebacker verbally agreed to a deal with the New York Jets late on Monday. Barr will receive $33 million in guarantees.

Griffen's base salary of $10.9 million would become guaranteed if he is still on the roster Friday.

They had less than $8 million in available space on Tuesday morning after agreeing to a three-year, $12.45 million deal with defensive tackle Shamar Stephen.

When reached Tuesday, Griffen declined comment.

Anthony Barr pulls about-face on Jets, will return to Vikings

Less than 24 hours after it looked like Anthony Barr was going to sign with the Jets, it appears the Pro Bowl linebacker has changed his mind.

The UCLA product was thought to be more of a pass rusher coming out of college, but played exclusively at linebacker in his five seasons with the Vikings.

After signing receivers Jamison Crowder and Josh Bellamy early in the day, the Jets made another huge splash by luring Barr away from the Minnesota Vikings. The team would have incurred an estimated $15.7 million cap hit in 2019 with the move.

Barr will instead remain with the Vikings.

The Jets had big plans for Barr, as they tried to turn him into the high-sacks edge rusher that he wasn't in Minnesota. Schefter says Richardson intends to sign a three-year deal with the Cleveland Browns. He had 13 1/2 sacks in five seasons, including three a year ago, with the Vikings.
