  • Mega-outage took Facebook Instagram and Whats App down for 14 hours

Frustrated users took to Twitter to say they were unable to access the websites and apps for a number of hours. "We're working to resolve the issue as soon as possible", a Facebook statement said on Twitter.

On Wednesday's issue, Ms Brooker added on Twitter: "Look at what happens when we let one company control everything".

"We're also aware that people are experiencing issues with access to our ads interfaces, we'll share an update as soon as possible", said Rob Leathern, the director of products and Facebook.

Issues began around 4pm on Facebook with people not able to log on.

These issues come off the back of users encountering a number of problems yesterday in accessing Google's YouTube, Gmail and Google Drive services.

Facebook and Instagram went down around 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday, leaving many users in a panic.

According to DownDetector, it looks like the outages are mainly in New England; Texas; Seattle, Washington; parts of Latin America, including Peru; the UK; India; and the Philippines.

Barr spurns Jets, to stay with Vikings
The Jets had big plans for Barr, as they tried to turn him into the high-sacks edge rusher that he wasn't in Minnesota. Griffen's base salary of $10.9 million would become guaranteed if he is still on the roster Friday.

Third-party outage tracker Down Detector said the worst hotspots were in California and NY in the USA, and in the UK.

Outages for large internet platforms like Facebook or YouTube aren't unusual, but in the past they have typically restored service within an hour or two.

In its most recent update, Facebook said that it can confirm the problem does not stem from a DDoS attack.

Or we could just shitpost some more.

It appears users all over the world are reporting problems.

PIX11 has reached out to spokespeople for the various platforms for more information.

WhatsApp also is in the Facebook family of products, but it seems to be working.
